Change & Extension

If a certified organization's business environment, structure, sites, products or services change, or if it wishes to extend its existing scope, it must apply to Korea Enterprise Certification for a change or extension.

We review the request and, where necessary, conduct an audit to decide on changes to or extension of the scope and certificate.

A change means amending existing certification details when the organization's information or matters related to certification change. You may apply for a change in cases such as:

• Change of company name or representative
• Change of location or site
• Change of organizational structure or management system
• Change of main business affecting the scope
• Change of products and services
• Change of details on the certificate
• Other significant changes that may affect certification

Depending on the change, a document review or additional audit may be needed; where the scope is affected, the certificate may be reissued after confirmation.

An extension adds to the scope of an existing certification. You may apply for an extension in cases such as:

• New products or services are added
• New business or activities are added
• A new organization or site is added to the scope
• Processes or activities not covered by the existing scope are added
• Other cases requiring a wider scope

We review the relationship between the request and the existing scope, and confirm the extended scope through the necessary audit.

※ Additional audits may be required depending on the nature and extent of the change or extension.

Certified organizations must notify Korea Enterprise Certification without delay of significant changes that may affect the validity or scope of certification.

Where changes to sites, organization, products, services or key processes may affect the scope, check them in advance so that certification remains appropriate.

It is not permitted to promote certification or use the certification mark beyond the existing scope without an extension.
